Where's Wendy?

Well, nothing like falling off the face of the earth.  Guess with school and work I fell behind and since being laid off from my job of 15 years, I really hadn't felt like doing any of this.  I have started following some blogs and that got me interested in going again.  I'm not sure if my blog will have any more focus than it ever did, but if you are reading and visiting, I thank you.

Unemployment - you know what really stinks about applying for job after job and hearing nothing? Hearing nothing!! It's hard to know if you are applying for the right jobs, if you are qualified (or overqualified) when no one will call you tell you that they even looked at your resume, let alone that they want to interview you.  I had a little pity party the other day and Tim was good about telling me that it really isn't about me.  I would think that the MBA would help, but so far it hasn't done a darn thing!

Dieting - well, the Paleo experiment lasted through 1 breakfast that was delicious but a pain in the butt and 1 lunch.  By the time dinner rolled around, I was tired of cutting, chopping, cooking and went for easy.  I suppose that if I didn't have all of the stuff in the house that was bad, I wouldn't have those as fall-backs, but I cannot afford to just throw all of that away.  So....now I am focusing on eating normal portions, tracking and making sure to get veggies and fruit in every day.

Crafting - Lord knows I have had plenty of time for all of that lately, but haven't touched a thing.  Maybe if I can find a project to catch my interest.

Reading - Started John Sanford's Silken Prey yesterday, so far, it's good, par for the course :) Come find me on Goodreads if you are so inclined (WendyB80).

Hmmmm....well, I guess that's it for now.

Craftful weekend

Got a lot of crafty stuff done this weekend, made a couple of things with the knitting looms, a headband and finished my pigtail hat for Emma Rae. I think I might make her a headband too! These are totally cute and really easy to make. Plus I have finished my square for Wendy's quilt, but it's pressing to make it flat right now...=)

Knifty Hat

Here's a hat I made on the knifty knitter, it's very soft and fuzzy.....the red yarn is Red Heart Lipstick, I'll have to find the label for the fun fur....This matches my winter coat so I'll probably keep it!

Duh!

I think I made reference a couple of times to needing to find the cord to download the pictures off my digital camera so I could show some of my WIPs.  Wellllll, I had a big duh moment today....our newer computer has the card readers built right into the front, so all along all I needed to do was pop that out, download the pictures and then I could post them.....drrrrr.....I would say that I'm suffering from lack of sleep, except this came to me today, and I'm most out of it today. Tim started 7-3:30 today, which means he gets up at some insanely early hour.....and of course that means that I'm awake from that point on! I so much more liked it when I got to be the loud one while I was getting ready.....but he has a 45 minute drive, where I drive only 15 (on a long day).  So he has to get up early and go to get there on time, where I can get up a half hour before I have to leave and have time to shower and get lunch together and I'm outta here....LOL!....oh well!!

This is the extreme closeup of an afghan that I made, it's four shades of Baby Clouds, it is stretched out, so it looks a little funky in this picture.  It's very warm and very soft.

Uck!

don't know why, just don't feel good tonight, my throat feels like there's a big bubble there, and I can't figure out why, wasn't like I ate a lot of anything bad, just want to curl up in a ball and go to sleep, I suppose we all have days like that, but I have this thing that says I'm not allowed to, I'm not allowed to be "down", I have to keep going and going, even when all I want to do is hibernate.

Oh, well, on to happier things, I finally got going on that square I'm looming, after having to redo it three times.....and dh made me laugh last night, I was telling him about something I found on Ravelry, and he says "They have places online where you can find patterns for your crafty stuff?".....once I stopped laughing I said "Yes, but they are like cocaine for the addicted.." and he says "Oh, that's what causes the 37 projects going at once"......after that I had pop coming out of my nose, so all I could do was laugh......He is attempting to understand the madness, ROFL!!  And I finally got a picture to the computer, had to take this one with my phone, but, hey, better than nothing.  This is one of the centers for my "mile-a-minute" afghan, I have 5 done, only 4 more to go!! Woo-hoo! I am ready to move on to the next step!

Yarn for Carrie's Square

Meant to take a picture of this yarn before I started, but I couldn't wait to get going....LOL!....this is for the square that I am making for DameWendy's friend Carrie, for her quilt.  I can't wait to see what this looks like when she gets it all put together!  I'm making mine on the red Knifty Knitter, from a pattern from LoomClass yahoo group.  So this one will have bobbles....they look like fun!

Red Heart Super Saver Medium Worsted Color 0374 Country Rose

It's a dusty pink.  Soft but sturdy.

And I wanted to add a link from here back to Wendy's page so you can find out more about her Quilt of Love. www.damewendy.com Awesome example of helping where you can, find your pay-it-forward right where you are, sometimes I think we look too hard to find people to help, when there could be someone right in front of us that just needs a hug! Anyway, I know I'm guilty of it, and this gives me a chance to try a new technique. So there you go! Because as you already know, I can't have enough things going at the same time!

Creativity

I think I'm suffering from pattern overload......there are so many cute things that I see that I want to do, which means I have 85 things going, and most of the time that's okay, but then nothing gets finished.....

I have taken pictures of the things that are done, the hats I made and the start of the shawl (which of course has given way to the crocheted afghan) and the never ending scarf.....
I'm on the 5th of 9 centers for the afghan, so far that's going pretty well, but I'm hoping to get those done this weekend because I'm bored with them now....I have adult crafting attention deficit disorder (ACADD).

Anyway, as soon as I find the cord to transfer the pics from the camera to the computer, I'll have some of them here.
